COOK ENTRY REMODEL

COOK ENTRY REMODEL (unbuilt) was the redesign of the transition spaces from the entry, living/dining, and a previously remodeled second-story master suite. The design intent was to allow light from the second-story windows to filter down into the previously dark entry space and to tie the beautiful walnut wood elements of the previous remodel into the rest of the house.
This was accomplished by using frosted glass floor panels in the upstairs hallway and replacing previously solid walls with walnut slat walls. This innovative design allowed for the transmision of light as well as the display of the clients japanese sculpture collection.
In addition, a glass window wall was added to allow views from the living space into a previously built external zen garden.
