COYOTE LANE – CONCEPT DESIGN

COYOTE LANE is a concept design for a remote site among the rocks near Joshua Tree.

The deceptively simple design actually incorporates a number of innovative technological concepts to achieve a totally off-grid retreat.

The roof structure is designed to maximize solar aspect for photovoltaic, solar water heating and shade. Extensive interior thermal mass in conjunction with a commercial-grade cooling tower are used to provide consistent interior comfort while allowing for extensive glazing. Water is provided by a large subterranean cistern.
